Packing Essentials: Atlanta Bound

Hi babes, welcome back to Forge A Frenzy!

Today I am going to be discussing the items I always include when packing and the things that are always on my to-do list before I leave on a trip.

★ Items I always make sure to have:
→ Makeup stock
I love makeup and I tend to go through my favorite products pretty fast, so I always make sure that I have all of my faves stocked up for when I travel. Nothing worse than reaching for your shape tape and realizing it’s out and you don’t have time to run to Sephora before the nights festivities.

→ Travel pack protein + meal replacement shakes
As I am slowly changing my lifestyle to reflect healthy eating habits (emphasis on slowly), replacing a few meals with healthy shakes and replenishing my body with good nutrients after a work out have become CRUCIAL parts of my day. Isagenix products are my FAVE and they come in convenient little pouches with the exact amount of powder you need to pour in your shaker bottle and go. I feel like on the go health is a consistent theme in my life… My favorite flavor is strawberry but during holiday season they have an eggnog flavor that is to DIE for. I also always have almonds or peanuts with me. If I get too hungry, I lose all self-control when it comes to eating so I like having nuts with me as a quick fix until I can get to a healthy option.

→ A physical book or have one downloaded on my iPad
I love watching movies and getting work done in airports, but sometimes it’s nice to just read a freakin’ book. I like using my kindle on my iPad when I don’t have time to go grab a physical copy of the book I want before I leave, but I really love the feeling of having an actual book in my hands. For long travel, a kindle/iPad is more efficient because you can have lots of reading material without taking up a ton of space, but for a week long trip, one book is generally enough for me! Right now I am reading Uninvited by Lysa TerKeurst and it gives me chill bumps almost every chapter. She speaks right into insecurity and how Jesus wants us to feel desired and wanted. It’s a fantastic read.

→ Digestive assistance
I didn’t really know what else to call this… You guys know I have major digestive/stomach problems when it comes to eating and dairy. I am lactose intolerant and potentially intolerant to many other things that I have not yet discovered. Traveling makes this so much worse! I generally eat worse and I drink more alcohol and I am not exercising as much so all of that combined does not lend itself to great digestive health. I asked my God-sister Kelsea for advice on products to use to not experience those problems this trip and she gave me a few options and from those options I purchased a few:

Natural Vitality Natural Calm Anti-Stress Drink (wow that’s a mouthful) – Basically, this is a magnesium supplement that you can put in warm water or in a water bottle when you head out the door to increase magnesium in your body which is suuuuper helpful for good digestion. My favorite blogger, Payton Sartain of Hustle + Halcyon, wrote a whole post on magnesium that I will link here. I like this product because it is super easy to travel with and drink on the go.
▷ Nature’s Way Activated Charcoal Supplement – Charcoal is becoming a very well-known and active ingredient in a lot of drinks/foods and beauty supplies. I will admit I haven’t done THAT much research but I plan on doing a whole post on the benefits of it beyond helping with digestion. It whitens teeth, relieves bloating, removes toxins, clears your skin, I mean I could go on and on. And I will, in a separate post!

Weekend Recap: OC Hikes + Beaches

Hiiiiiii everyone!

It’s Tuesday and it has truly felt like Tuesday today, that’s for dang sure. This past weekend was non-stop. It was fun & full and I pretty much ignored all adult responsibilities for the weekend. I actually hate not being productive on the weekend and getting things done but this weekend I just decided to forget my to-do list and explore!

Lorelei had some friends come into town this weekend so we wanted to do lots of fun Orange County activities. Honestly, I had to remind myself like “oh yea, I live here” for most of the weekend. I am truly blessed to be able to live in such a beautiful place.

On Friday we went to an OC SC game at the new stadium in Irvine, which was a blast! Food truck food and hanging out watching a bunch of hot guys play sports is an exceptional way to spend a Friday evening if you ask me. Lo used to intern for the team and she knew one of the guys playing for the other team so that was super fun! Basically, she spent the whole game answering my soccer questions because I really had zero knowledge before Friday. We headed home after the game because we knew that we had a big day the next day.

Friday Product Spotlight: Too Faced Melted Latex

Hi babes!!

If you follow me on social media, you know that I have been sick all week. And it has NOT been fun. I have been working so hard that I have overworked myself, not gotten enough sleep, pushed myself to far, and as a result, gotten sick. My body needs sleep and sometimes I try to avoid that and it fights back. And on the other hand, trying to not do anything just doesn’t work for me. So I have had to take a few steps back, skip spin class some days, not look at my computer 24/7, and just breathe. And drink a LOT of Emergen-C.

So that is why there will only be one post this week, the highly anticipated (lol) Friday product post!!

We’re gonna keep it short and sweet, because of the previous statements.

TooFaced products rock. They just do. All of them. And my first encounter with their products was their Melted Lipstick line, which is phenomenal. They have since created Melted Chocolate, Melted Matte, Melted Metals, and Melted Latex.

Melted Latex looks exactly like what you think it would. Shiny and glossy and fabulous. I am in love with the formula, the application, and the overall wear. Not one you can keep on through meals and such, but perfect for a night out or adding a touch of color and shine to complete your look.

I got the shade Peekaboo and have been wearing it nonstop because it is the perfect pink for my skin tone!

I have the Melted Lipstick in Chiuhaha and the Melted Matte in Queen B and people literally stop me while I’m wearing them to ask what shade and what brand.

MAKEUP TIP: When you’re doing you’re makeup, blend your foundation onto your lips as well, so your lips are the same color as your face. It takes away the color of your lips and allows the color from your lipstick or gloss to be accurate and wonderful.

Nothing brightens up the weekend like a new shade to rock out with your girlfriends or brunching on the town. I would love to know if you try out any of their products!!

FYI, not a sponsored post! Just truly love me so TooFaced products.

Lotttsssss of fun things happening this weekend so stay updated on socials! (@MadisonCrowley)
I got my new vlog camera and it’s honestly been lifechanging… this weekend is going to be so much fun testing it out!!!!!

Skirting Around The Topic | Mini Skirts + Graphic Tees

Welcome back to Forge A Frenzy!

It has been so long since I have been able to actually post a fun look on the blog! I have been extremely busy, as I’m sure you all are, and shooting a look has, unfortunately, been at the bottom of the to-do list. Which SUCKS because it’s one of my favorite parts of the blog. I feel like life definitely goes in phases of being super busy and then having tons of down time… I am obviously currently in the first category. But, to be honest, it feels really good to work your butt off and see results. Whether that means my blog or my health. Results and success are so motivating.

Friday Product Spotlight: Phoenix + Hollie Cards

Hi Friday people!

I am writing this post in my comfy clothes, enjoying a cup of tea at 9:24 PM on a Thursday night and honestly, I’m super content with this. I read a quote somewhere this week and it said, “You’re not missing out when you’re getting your sh*t together.” It’s so true. Not that I feel like I’m missing out, but as I am getting my adult life together, spinning everyday, getting blog work done after work, it is cleaning up my priorities and showing me what is most important to me. Going out and drinking margs with my friends 4 nights a week is, unfortunately, having to be compromised down to 1 or 2 nights a week (;

Anyways, it’s that time of week for my favorite product! The past few weeks I have been featuring beauty products primarily, but this week I wanted to switch it up by highlighting a different kind of product: greeting cards! Specifically, the unique, trendy, and cute greeting cards from Phoenix + Hollie! If you go to Phoenix + Hollie’s Instagram, you will be met with a super aesthetically pleasing array of beautiful flat lays and greeting cards with eye catching and fun sayings on them. You guys know that stellar design + aesthetic is something I looooove and look for in brands that I collaborate with. Well, I am in LOVE with their design! It is colorful and radiant and well-thought-out. There are also some awesome art prints with scriptures on them that I would love to have for my wall! I always appreciate when people use their gifts to spread the light of Jesus.

I have linked their Etsy shop here so you can devour their design and pick your favorites to order for your dorm rooms as you’re heading back to school or add to your wall decor in your living room.

Check out their Etsy shop as well as their Instagram to find your newest addition to your wall or to send your long distance bff!!

I have a SUPER busy weekend coming up. The fair, US Open, and birthday parties galore, so make sure that you are following along on my social channels!! @MadisonCrowley

Hope you guys have a great weekend <3

Everything You Need To Know About The Bachelor Casting Calls ( & More!! )

Hi! Thank you for stopping by Forge A Frenzy! Don’t forget to follow along on social media for updates on the daily happenings of my life – @MadisonCrowley ♥

So, today I went out on a limb and decided to go to the Bachelor casting call that was happening a few miles from my house. I had a lot of expectations of what the day would look like and some were super accurate and others were definitely not. I hope you enjoy this recap of my experience with the Bachelor!

I almost didn’t go through with this experience because I truly had no idea what to wear. Professional? Casual? Boho? Fancy? How do I stand out and make an impression but also stay true to myself…? All of these things were going through my head and so I settled on my favorite pair of Joe’s skinny jeans with a sexy-ish open + flowy top with one of my favorite dainty gold lariat necklaces and paired it with one of my go-to pairs of shoes – nude peep toes with a block heel. I felt like myself and I liked it.

I’m Willingly Setting My Alarm for 5:30 AM…?!?! | Motivation + Exercising Tips & Tricks

FaF Workout Tips

Hello and welcome back to Forge A Frenzy!!!

*If you’re here for motivational tips & tricks from myself and my besties, scroll to the bottom. I typed out a fourth of my life story before getting to the good stuff.*

If you know me, you know that I am not, and have never been, a “morning person”. I like slow mornings. I set 2-5 alarms and they go off for about an hour. Seriously… I hit snooze more than anyone should. Sorry to my future husband. I was a tried and true night owl and did my best work in the wee hours of the night. During the first 2 years of high school, I rode the bus to school. The bus that picked me up at my house at 6:20 AM!!!!! I mean, looking back, I don’t really know how I did that y’all. I struggled making it to my 9 AM’s in college and genuinely couldn’t fathom scheduling myself willingly to be somewhere by 8 AM.

While I could write a whole post about my snooze issue, this post is about what the deciding factor was in my life that made me start setting my alarm (willingly) for 5:30 AM and what is keeping me going.

Two Words: Spin Class.

Vulnerable + Transparent: My Thoughts On Staying In A Relationship Too Long

Something that I love about blogging is that I can make it my own.
I love clothing and trends and coffee and photography. I also love to write.
I have a therapeutic system of writing feelings that I cannot express in any other way.

This section of words was written during the very end of a terribly hard season for me. I had just moved to California and I was looking back and reflecting on what truths I had held myself to that were inaccurate. Reflecting on reality and leaning into sadness in order to push through into a new and beautiful season of life.

Friday Product Favorite: Glossier Super Pure

Happy Friday babes!!

It’s the end of the week and what brightens the weekend more than a brand new beauty product that you can look forward to showing up on your doorstep early next week when you are hitting that workweek slump… Nothing. Enter: Glossier Super Pure.

This potion (yes, I just said potion because it is a mixture that works wonders) contains Niacinamide and and Zinc PCA. If you’re like me when I first read those words, you are confused but also curious. So, I did a little bit of reading. According to the Glossier website, Niacinamide is, “also known as Vitamin B3” and, it has a, “powerful soothing action at the source of redness.” And the other key ingredient to this serum, Zinc PCA, “penetrates pores to help clear out impurities and excess sebum that can cause blemishes. Adding zinc is like giving your skin a calming massage to help it rest, recharge, and let go of built-up agitation.” And man, are these mixtures magical!

Glossier also claims that Super Pure is “hypoallergenic, dermatologist-tested, paraben free, fragrance free, appropriate for all skin types, cruelty free.” All of those claims are super bold but shows the confidence that Glossier has in their products! And you guys know how important cruelty free products are to me.

Period breakouts? Apply some serum. Eat a bunch of fries? Apply this serum. Day drink with your bffs all weekend? This serum is for you!!

I mean really, I notice a difference the day after I use it. I wash my face at night before I head to bed and I let the serum settle in and when I wake up in the morning, there is a noticeable reduction of redness on my face!

So happy Friday and I hope you enjoy your magical serum! As usual, if you bought this product and LOVED it like I did, I want to hear! <3
